Story
My role as Chairman at Yad Vashem UK Foundation is a real privilege for me, and your help will be greatly appreciated.
From my perspective, at a time when antisemitism is rising again at a frightening level all over the country, advancement and understanding of Holocaust education here in the UK and internationally is so important.
At Yad Vashem UK we have an extensive and varied programme of activities, which is being further developed, including:
Organising and sponsoring annual Teachers’ Seminars at Yad Vashem, which have been taking place for many years and is highly successful.
A varied and growing set of Yad Vashem Travelling Exhibitions for exhibition around the country. We have established relationships with schools, universities, Churches and other organisations who have staged a number of these exhibitions of ours.
A vibrant Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah twinning programme where celebrants research and commemorate Holocaust victims who were denied theirs. We now have a few hundred each year. An educational programme linked to this is now being produced for launch early in the new year.
Staging and hosting a variety of events featuring leading relevant guest speakers, live sculpting of Holocaust survivors and more.
A long-standing Book Club, meeting regularly, reviewing relevant works facilitated by authors and teachers. Details can be seen on our website https://www.yadvashem.org.uk/events/house-of-glass-by-hadley-freeman-23-september-2021/
