Story
Bridget and Simon plan to walk from Berwick-upon-Tweed to North Berwick (approx. 100kms) to raise money for the National Trust for Scotland. We plan to match every donation we receive to help the Trust meet the large deficit caused by all its properties being closed since March. Our walk will take in St Abb’s Head (pictured above) one of the Trust’s coastal properties.
We are doing this as part of the Trust’s “Stride Out for Scotland” - initiative which is encouraging everybody to break out of lockdown and experience our incredible landscapes by taking a walk while making a donation or getting sponsored. We hope our walk will inspire others to walk part of the coastline, climb a mountain or simply walk through our beautiful countryside so that jointly we can make a meaningful sum to help the NTS “Save our Scotland”.
Please join us on this journey by either sponsoring us or choosing your own walk, literally or virtually. You are also welcome to join us for a section of the Berwickshire Coastal Path. We hope that our campaign will raise awareness for Scotland’s unique coastline and extraordinary landscape at the same time as helping the NTS survive and conserve our treasured built, natural and cultural heritage for future generations.
Many thanks from both of us,
Simon and Bridget
