Many won't know this about myself but I have a sister 2 years younger than myself with learning disability, as a young kid she had difficulty understanding school work and teachers, in an age where we never had the support of charities like Mencap in Kirklees. This lack of support and understanding means my sisters experience of school was some what difficult, she suffered bullying and eventually was moved to a special needs school, this was out of our local town and as a consequence she grew up with no local friends and due to her fear of been bullied she withdrew into herself.

Myself as a kid without her problems I flourished in school and at home I dominated my parents affection and attention. I wish on reflection I had stuck up for my sister more and helped her develop as I did myself. That been said my sister does lead a normal life, she does live independently but with a lot of assistance from Mum and Dad. I can't change the past, but I'm doing this challenge to raise awareness of the work Mencap in Kirklees do and I'm doing this challenge in honour of my sister who I love to bits....
