Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and taking the trouble read this. I'm sure you're inundated with requests to support charities. However, please consider sponsoring me, even if it's just for a very small amount.
I've foolishly been persuaded to join a group of brave parents on a fundraising hike to take place on Saturday 14th June 2008. The Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge is 23.5 miles long and entails climbing three fells: Pen-y-ghent 694m (2277ft), Whernside 736m (2425ft) and Ingleborough 723m (2372ft). The challenge is to do this in under 12 hours. This is quite a challenge even for an athlete like me. The aim of this foolhardiness is to raise essential funds for Friends of Beaver Road Primary School. Beaver Road is the local primary school that my three boys go to. Beaver Road is also the lowest funded school in Manchester per head (on the basis that it is sited in an affluent area.) So much for free state education for all... Friends of Beaver Road helps to raise funds which in the past have helped with play and playground equipment and a whole host of other things. Local government doesn't really provide enough money for the school to fund these things. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me. Friends of Beaver Road (Beaver Road School Parent Teacher Association) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in reclaimed tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
