Alrighty then… in January this year I realised that life had come down to a hideously depressing combo of working, eating, sleeping, ironing and housework.  It had been that way for some long time so the rut was a deep one. :-/

In a bid to liberate myself from the rut/trench, I called on my fabulous friends to climb out of their ruts and drag me out of mine!  Having talked me down from a Himalayan trek, we finally agreed on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge;

• Total Distance: 37km/23 miles
• Ascent: 1381m/4531ft
• Target time: 12 hours

People keep asking “Errrrm…. Why?!” and “What charity are you doing it for?” The answers were “Why not?!” and “None”. 

However, I was talking to an inspiring Macmillan nurse (through work, not for personal reasons) and she asked the same questions. On reflection this seemed to be a wasted opportunity… so, here I am!  The answers now are “Because I want to take every opportunity to live my life” and “Macmillan, because they help other people to do the same.”

I do hope that’s not too over-indulgent and sentimental… 15th September is the big day.  I have no target and no expectation of how much to raise but if folks want to give and support me, who am I to stand in their way!?  Now get your credit card out!!  ;-)
