Nowadays when owners bring their ill pets to the vet they want ‘more’ than just treatment to get the pet better. Questions are asked about which disease the pet is suffering from and why the pet fell ill and what treatments will be the best. In human medicine progress has been made through studies and research and better treatments have been found for many diseases such as heart disease, obesity, diabetes and cancer. Our pets suffer from similar diseases but research is needed to improve our understanding and treatments because PETS are NOT HUMANS! The charity 'Petsavers' supports such studies but does not use experimental animals.
