Macmillan Marathon Walk and 3000 Mile Challenge 2017

Peak District Mighty Hike 2017 · 2 September 2017 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the past few years I have tried to stay fit by walking as much as I can. Since starting to do this I have also lost a lot of weight, over 40kg at one point. In 2016 I managed to walk nearly 2700 miles (as measured by my Fitbit), but have also put on 10kg over the last two years, and so have decided to challenge myself for 2017.
This year I am going to try to shed that 10kg, but also walk 3000 miles (around 250 miles per month) with the main focus being a 26 mile hiking marathon on 2nd September 2017; organised by Macmillan Cancer Support.
This is because many close family members, including both my parents, died of cancer...and I will be walking with them forever in my mind; here's my blog post about it:

It would be great if you could support me in this at some point during the year, I know that there's lots of this sort of thing going on these days so don't expect anything.
Thanks for reading this,
Simon
