StreetDoctors trains young people affected by violence how to be lifesavers, including what to do if someone is bleeding or knocked out. Our movement of young healthcare volunteers empower 11-25 year olds across the UK to make more informed decisions & become StreetDoctors in their communities.

Story

In June 2015 I ate an almond and almost died.

30 minutes after eating the almond I could not breathe and my heart stopped.  Paramedics and firefighters administering CPR for four minutes saved my life.

StreetDoctors is a UK charity that teaches CPR and other life saving techniques to young people.  Youth violence is the third leading cause of mortality for young people. Some of these deaths happen because the young people present panic, don’t act and don’t call for help.

Over 300 volunteer medical students take StreetDoctors training into the most vulnerable parts of our communities to teach CPR and practical life saving skills.  Their work saves lives.  It really does.  On top of their studies, their clinical work, they give up their free time to provide crucial first aid training in tough environments.  I am in awe.

£50 will cover the cost of life-saving first aid training for up to eight young people.  £20 helps change lives.  The money we raise will go directly towards the delivery of that training across the UK.

Thank you so much.  Next year the Iron Man.
