'Life is a daring adventure or nothing'

I'm Danni and on the 26th July 2015, I will be jumping out of a plane in memory of my amazing step-dad Simon. This would have been on Simon's 49th birthday, but due to the bad weather the first jump on Sunday 1st February had to be cancelled. The jump is now 2 days short of our 3 years without Simon, at a time which is especially hard for our family. 

Though we sadly lost Simon in 2012, he taught me to live every day as if it's your last. He always encouraged me to push myself and this is the perfect way to do it. The charity I am raising money for, Climbing Out, works with young people facing life changing events, illnesses or injuries. It is an honour to work with and raise money for inspirational people who really do know the value of life and life to the full. 

Anyone who knew Simon will agree that he would have loved to skydive with me. The very special time we had together was full of skiing down crazy slopes, climbing ridiculous assault courses and jumping down waterfalls. His life was about working hard and playing hard, a life which I will always respect and always be inspired by. Although it is hard without him by my side convincing me to face these challenges and enjoy the adrenaline, I find much comfort in the knowledge of how proud he will be.

My journey over the last three years has changed me completely as a person and Climbing Out is the perfect charity to support. Anyone who knows me knows this is a huge personal challenge and all sponsorship is massively appreciated! 

I miss him more every day but he will never be forgotten.
