Steps is the leading charity working for all those whose lives are affected by childhood lower limb conditions. Everything we do is about valuing and supporting individuals, families and carers affected by conditions which have an impact on the legs, hips or feet.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.  Every penny we raise will go direct to the charity, not for the cost of the trek.

We are raising money for a charity associated with our daughter, Anna.   Seven years ago Anna was born various complications including an upper limb deficiency.  16 operations later we have made great progress but realise we still have some way to go. During the last 7 years a charity called Reach has been a valuable source of help.

The trek we are planning is the Valley of the Volcanoes in Ecuador.  This culminates in a climb of Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in the world.  The last day starts just after midnight and is an arduous climb with crampons and ice axes.  No walk in the park!

Through treks like this we (and you) have helped to raise in excess of £70,000.  A team of 18 of us are booked on this trip and we are aiming to take the funds raised to over £100,000.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Steps Charity Worldwide will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

Reach provides affected families with the opportunity to get together and share experiences.  Children with different arms can realise they are not alone.  Siblings can meet other siblings and parents can meet other parents and all can realise they are not the only ones.  Steps offers similar help for children with a lower limb deficiency.
