Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year at the age of 45 I successfully completed the National 3 Peaks Challenge. Now that was extremely hard! And I diligently climbed around 15 mountains and countless big hills in preparation for it.
This year I have signed up to something even tougher and I’m one year older.
THE FAN DANCE!
Let’s be clear. There’s no dancing and we’ll need more than a fan to keep us going. The official description is below but for me it's the equivalent of climbing 2 mountains non-stop whilst carrying a 4-year-old child in a backpack and doing it within a very challenging
time-frame or I fail. And I’m only tiny!!
I’m so scared that I have agreed to do the National 3 Peaks challenge again beforehand JUST AS
TRAINING!!
The reason I’m doing it is for the kids at Stockton Heath Primary School- to give back to the community and help all I can to better their education in an
environment where schools are crying out for help.
It’s genuinely scary and very, very tough and I’ve been training again for some time and will continue to do so up until the very last minute.
So, if you can spare anything at all, please do so and it will be very much appreciated.
Many thanks xx
The Fan Dance is a gruelling 24km SAS Selection test march staged over Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons. The infamous march is the world’s oldest Special Forces test and is used as the first major indicator of whether a candidate has the physical and mental aptitude to complete the legendary selection course.
