Back in the summer of 2014 Vicki-Louise Sherwin (13 years old) decided to host a Singing for Lakelands fundraiser in memory of her grandmother Margaret Harvey - who used to be a volunteer at the hospice. As Vicki is a classical singer she decided to host an afternoon of musical entertainment and began contacting local acts to take part. She contacted fellow classical singer Charlie Botting (15 years old) who was a great support to her during the process. Vicki had been going to sing at Lakelands for the patients for some time as she was keen to continue the connection her grandmother had started. The first fundraiser in October 2014 was a huge success raising over £2,500 for the hospice and even had Brendan Coyle - Mr Bates from Downton Abbey in attendance! Brendan challenged both Charlie and Vicki to put together another fundraiser before Christmas, which they did. The festive fundraiser was a great success also, raising £824 for Lakelands! Charlie and Vicki decided they would like to continue hosting the very successful Singing for Lakelands fundraisers and began organising a Spring Edition. They have set themselves a fundraising target of £10,000 to reach during 2015. Please help support them as they support Lakelands.
So far they have raised £3,424 for Lakelands!
