The Kirkwood exists to improve the quality of life for local people, against all odds. We help those in our care to live well and make the most of every single day. We make the complex simple by focusing on what's important, and we support families and loved ones to live on and live well.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving Singleminded pages for Kirkwood Hospice. After a successful Velothon 2016, we're back to do it all again; this time with even more riders.

At some point, we've all been affected by cancer. It's taken a loved one. Or A friend. A relative. A co-worker. A team-mate. A neighbour. It's the disease of our age.

The Singleminded initiative is about raising money for a choice of 3 charities; in 2017 this is Velindre hospital, the Kirkwood hospital (Huddersfield) and Target Ovarian Cancer. All three are involved in the fight against cancer; either in treatment, care, research or all three. The charities were chosen after direct experience of their incredible work. It's a tagline we've all heard, but we feel it's true; by lending your support we'll beat this bloody disease.

We ride long distance cycling events on bikes both geared and single speed, all in single-minded pursuit of fundraising and awareness. Yep it's uncomfortable, but nowhere near as much as cancer. Please help us to help others. One cause, many people. Thanks for listening.
