Story
I’m running the Brighton Marathon in support of Sands, a charity that provides vital support to families affected by baby loss, a cause that is very close to my heart.
In 1991, my sister died at just nine hours old, and in 2015, my nephew passed away at six weeks old. These losses have had a lasting impact on my family, and running the marathon is my way of honouring their memory while supporting other families going through similar heartbreak.
I am committed to raising at least £800 for Sands over the next 8 months. This will be through a series of 10k and half marathon events, with the big even on 4th April in Brighton.
As part of my training I have already completed the Pontefract and Leeds 10k events. I still have the following to come:
Mansfield 10k - 13/09/2026
Robin Hood Half Marathon - 27/09/2026
Gainsborough & Morton Half Marathon - 01/11/2026
North Lincolnshire Half Marathon - 07/03/2027
I will also be organising additional fundraising activities along the way, with the goal of exceeding my target and making as much impact as possible.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help Sands continue their incredible work supporting bereaved families and improving care for those affected by baby loss. Thank you so much for your support, it truly means a lot.
