Story

Being diagnosed with a neurological condition can be a frightening and bewildering experience; many people face unemployment, poverty and social isolation as a result.

These are issues The Brain Charity seeks to support people with. By offering practical support with things like welfare benefits, advocacy and employment, to battling social isolation and offering accessible and inclusive activities and counselling, we are motivated to support our community. We have been working in Liverpool and nationally since 1993 to help thousands of people every year and we raise funds to help us to continue to deliver this essential work.

Working at The Brain Charity has given me the opportunity to understand and support members of my own family with multiple complex neurological conditions - my loved ones have been affected by dementia, cerebellar ataxia, stroke, brain haemorrhages, Down syndrome, encephalitis and brain injury. Neurological conditions are common, affecting 1 in every 6 people, but are so frequently misunderstood due to how complex the symptoms are. The Brain Charity community is exceptional, helping to provide much needed assistance to many people. Become one of our community.
