Zipsliding for Teenage Cancer Trust

Zip Wire - Glasgow · 8 September 2013 ·
In honour of all the young people I've met, I'm going to chuck myself off the top of Xscape (131ft high) and zipslide 250m through the air. If you know me (or have been to Go Ape with me) you'll know I absolutely hate heights so this is a big challenge for me. Please support my zipslide and help us continue providing the best possible outcome for teenagers and young adults with cancer. Our next big project is building a brand new, state-of-the-art unit for young people aged 13-16 at the New Children's Hospital in Glasgow. This will replace our small, but perfectly formed interim unit at Yorkhill Sick Children's hospital. This is just one of the many things your funds will help to achieve....
Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’ We’re the only charity dedicated to making this happen.
- - We bring young people together so they can be treated together, by teenage cancer experts, in the best place for them.
- - We educate young people about cancer and work with health professionals to develop their knowledge so we can improve the speed and quality of diagnosis.
- - And by funding research and working with our partners in the NHS, government and organisations both nationally and internationally, we strive to improve survival rates.
- - We lead the world in the care of young people with cancer.
Together with these young people, their families and the passion of our supporters, we’re challenging the NHS and transforming lives.
Thanks so much in advance for your support :) xx
