Story

I was on my lunch break, when an email popped up from the British Hen Welfare Trust asking for people to fund raise by running the Brighton Marathon. I was looking for a challenge so I put my name forward never thinking I would get a place.  Well here I am 5 months later and 51 years old starting my training!!

When we were looking to get some chickens for our small holding it seemed only right to get some rescue ones. I was fully aware of what happens to chickens in the meat/egg industry but so shocked when we actually got them not only at how they looked, over grown beaks and claws, no feathers and sores from being pecked,  but how mentally traumatised some of them were.

British Hen Welfare Trust do such an amazing job rehoming ex battery hens and promoting the use of free range eggs in food manufacturing and also in educating people to make better choices when buying eggs, so it would be great if you could sponser me to help them continue the work.
