Dogstar says " No body knows how many street dogs there are in Sri Lanka, figures range between 2 and 5 million. Whatever the true number a lot of these dogs spend their entire life struggling with hunger , disease , injury with no positive human contact and their entire life suffering.

Although Dogstar run a rehoming program in Sri Lanka we know we cannot simply adopt our way out of the overpopulation crisis, nor can we build shelters or pounds to house millions of animals and culling is both horrific and totally ineffective.

by donating just £12 to Dogstar Foundation you can sterilise one animal and vaccinate it against Rabies for 1 year. When you consider 1 pair of dogs can have up to 67000 descendants in just six years you can see how vital our spay / neuter programs are"
