Sisters of Mirthy

“MIRTH: (Noun) laughter, humour or happiness”
We are a flock of juvenile friends paddling to raise funds for St David’s Hospice at their annual Dragon Boat Racing Festival. We race in both memory and in celebration, of my sister Tracey Rees and her best friend Fiona Williams, both of whom were cared for at the hospice. Tracey and Fiona loved silliness and ridiculousness, so there is no better way to celebrate their laughter than by being silly and ridiculous. We are all sisters in mirth. And dress appropriately we shall, as we whip out our wimples, hoist on our habits and part the waves better than Moses. And if we hear banjos we’ll paddle quicker.
All the money raised will fund the wonderful work of the hospice and enable them to continue to offer invaluable support, love and care to other patients and families during immensely difficult times. A price on which it is impossible to give.
And so for Tracey and Fiona, and in celebration of sisters from other misters, brothers from other mothers and simply friends who are family, let us take to the lake……
