2017 Thames Bridges Bike Ride · 1 October 2017 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.

This year we have chosen Thames Bike Ride as our first charity event; we are raising money for the Stroke Association.

The Stoke Association are the UK’s leading charity dedicated to conquering stroke. They rely on support from all to provide vital services, campaign for better stoke care and to find better treatments.

There are over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That’s one stroke every five minutes. Even though you are now twice as likely to survive a stroke compared to 20 years ago, stroke is still the fourth single
largest cause of death in the UK.

We know we need to change how people think about stroke and challenge the myths surrounding it. We push for greater awareness of stroke and its warning signs and campaign for better stroke care.

Many of us were keen to take part so we have a team of 23 as follows: Darren Size, Sharon Rose, Connor Staniforth, Ian Austin, Glen Davies, Brian Fyfe, Jack Tutte, Daniel O’Sullivan, Lincoln Atkins, Sam Mason, Aaron Caplen, Chris Neal, Charlotte Codrington, Gareth Martin, Angel Santos, Joshua Kennealy, Kelly Lynch, Callum Reid, Charlie Sharples, Tom Woollatt, Jack Smerdon, Steve Ewings, Alex White and Dean West.

Sizebreed ask if you could please support us by giving generously so we can make our first Thames Bike Ride successful and help us to make a generous donation to the Stroke Association.

Thank-you for your generosity for such a worthwhile cause!
