Story
We, as a school community, are hoping to raise much-needed
money this Christmas for the Simon Community and we would greatly appreciate your support in this endeavour.
The Simon Community will ensure that all proceeds raised will go directly towards feeding and providing starter packs for those less fortunate than ourselves. They will also work to secure a safe shelter for local people who are facing homelessness for whatever reason this Christmas.
Homelessness is a shattering consequence of cumulative factors that can leave people feeling that they have no support, options or hope. The effects of homelessness are devastating. We know that homeless people have a much lower life expectancy than those in secure and stable accommodation. They also have fewer educational and employment opportunities and suffer from stigmatisation and social exclusion - A large proportion of people experiencing homelessness also suffer from mental ill health.
The staff, pupils and parents will be doing a big ‘sleep out’ on Thursday 16th December in an effort to raise funds. We are asking you all to please support this charitable event. All donations, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
