Fundraising for Lancashire Mind
Story
Hello we are the Sir John Thursby Community College PE Department and we are raising money for the charity, Lancashire Mind.
Lancashire Mind is an independent charity based in and working for the people of Lancashire. They work to change the lives of children and adults in Lancashire to reduce the number of people who have experienced a mental health condition. The charity is now well established and has over 20 years of experience.
On a daily basis we aim improve physical and mental well-being through the delivery of PE. At this difficult time we have come together as a PE Department and decided to raise awareness for mental health through the Lancashire Mind Charity. We are going to do this by completing a Marathon a day as a PE team for the 31 days in May.
As a department of 6 staff members we are going to complete this by running, rowing, walking and cycling. Each staff member will contribute towards the 26.2 miles per day through one of the previously stated activities.
Our initial aim is to raise £1000 for Lancashire Mind but ultimately highlight how we can help both adults and children to get through challenging times and for them to know there's always someone there to help.
