Mountbatten is the Isle of Wight's only hospice and is known for innovation across the UK and beyond. We provide expert medical, nursing and domiciliary end of life care and bereavement support to people in their own homes, including care homes, in our Newport building and in the local hospital.

Story

We thought it would be fun to do a small team challenge during 2014. Adrian, Mike, Andy, Sam and Helen have all risen to the task, and will be walking across half of the Isle of Wight on May 11th. This is a distance of around 15 miles, and none of it is flat....

We will be powered by Anna's legendary home baking, and emotional support from the rest of the team, especially the day after!

The walk itself is the largest fundraising event on the Isle of Wight, with over 10000 people taking part last year. All funds raised go to running the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the Isle of Wight. This is the only hospice on the Isle of Wight, and is a lead provider of palliative care to the Island community. They provide care for patients suffering from or affected by life-shortening illnesses and provide vital help and advice for their families, friends and carers.
