Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team is a local charity that provides an essential search and rescue service in the Peak District. They have to continually raise the money that they need to be able to keep the team operational, which amounts to over £35,000 every year. With the exception of a few ad-hoc grants for specific training or equipment, they receive no government funding for this essential service.
