In’sha’Allah, by the will of God. I have put myself forward to run a half marathon for the first time and the destination is Palestine!!
I am taking part in this challenge with #SKTWelfare, this is a growing charity which is very close to me.
SKT Welfare has taken part in the #PalestineMarathon the previous 2 years this is the 3rd in which I’m hoping to be part of.
This specific challenge will be in aid of raising money for a Water Desalination Plant in Gaza. The water desalination plant converts saline water into fresh drinkable water, in the Gaza Strip, 20 plants have been completely destroyed which has affected around 700,000 people. The plant is located in the Al-Moare area in Gaza, the residents of this area have no access to drinkable water well within 2 miles of their home.
I need your support to get this plant up and running!! You won’t be helping me instead you’ll be helping the 70,000 people that the water plant will provide for with 50,000 litres of water being supplied each day.
This marathon itself started in April 2013, the goal of this event is to show the world the side of Palestine and Palestinians the side that does not deal with war and conflict, this is a celebration of the Palestinian people and culture!
Please help me reach my target, even if you donate as little as a £1 it will help to change and bring a smile to those affected.
