Story

On the 3rd July 2022 i will be doing something I've always wanted to try, a once in a life time experience skydive so I'm taking part in Nottingham Hospital's Charity Skydive! Jumping out of a plane at over 10,000 feet, flying through the clouds at 120mph all to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Ward at the Queens Medical Centre. I would like to rasie as much as i can for the ward, patients and their families and also for things like equipment, courses, projects.

Please read my story about my brother Ryan❤

Ryan was always an energetic, confident, fun 8 year old little boy, in march 2003 he started to feel unwell, his stomach had become really bloated and he was in severe pain, loss of appetite, tired, yellow looking, and just generally not himself, after my mum took him to the doctors a few times he was then admitted to hospital with suspected jaundice then on the 17th march she received the devastating news that Ryan was battling with childhood cancer, after numerous tests, ryan was officially diagnosed with non hodgkinson lymphoma, so my mum had a meeting with the consultant as to what they wanted to do next, he was then taken to the Children's Cancer ward at the Queens Medical Centre (at the time E38), where they started Chemotherapy, he had numerous rounds of Chemotherapy, Ryan also went for monthly lumbar punctures, he also had his stemcells removed frozen and then put back in after 2 weeks which gave the doctors chance to give him a high doesage of Chemotherapy, he had all the Chemotherapy he could with the programme that was planned. October 2003 mum was told the devastating news that Ryan had relapsed and he now had leukemia as well, unfortunately the leukemia was too aggressive and my mum was told there was nothing else they could do, But he could still go into the hospital to have platlets and blood. On 7th of December 2003 my beautiful little brother lost his battle and grew his angel wings. me only being 13 at the time i didn't really understand what was going on as my mum didn't tell me much with being so young, as i have got older I've learned more about his battle and now having 3 children myself it hurts me knowing what my mum had to go through burying your own child is something no parent should have to go through, and also what my brother himself had to go through at just the age of 8. 18 years later we miss him dearly.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and helping me raise money by donating, or simply just sharing the page. All my love Emma x
