Story

Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies and of meningitis in babies under age 3 months. On average in the UK, at least-two babies a day develop a group B Strep infection -one baby a week dies from their GBS infection, and-one baby a week survives with long-term disabilities physical, mental or both.  Yet most group B Strep infections are preventable. Group B Strep Support informs families & health professionals about group B Strep to save tiny lives.

On 2 April 2023, Emma Doughty, Madeline Seibert, Laura Preston, Iryna Vasylenko and Alicia Thonet will be running in the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise funds for Group B Strep Support.

Group B Streptococcus is the UK’s most common cause of
life-threatening infection in newborn babies and of meningitis in babies under 3 months. On average in the UK, at least:

Two babies a day develop a group B strep infection;

One baby a week dies from their GBS infection; and

One baby a week survives with long-term disabilities physical, mental or both.

Group B Strep Support offers a wide range of free services,
information and support to families, including parents suffering with what can be devastating consequences of a GBS infection.

We are a team of lawyers who truly believe in Group B Strep
Support’s aim of stopping more young lives being devastated by group B strep infection. Any donations will go towards providing vital awareness and also to support families, so please give generously for this amazing charity!
