SLOW is an award winning charity run by bereaved parents and siblings providing support for bereaved families. Our members say our support groups are a lifeline, giving them the chance to connect and share their experiences with other bereaved families.

Story

Hey Everyone,

We have just celebrated Alexis’ 10th Birthday and will be celebrating Vivienne’s Birthday on 26th May. As a group, we wanted to turn a terribly sad time of year into something more magical. Instead of the toys, and cards, money and gifts, we’re asking if you could help us give back to those who have helped us.

So our group of runners will be hitting the track on Saturday 3rd June 2023 at Regents Park.

We are running in memory of our angels ALEXIS and VIVIENNE and every other child who was taken from us too soon.

We want to raise awareness of child loss; and the gaping hole in our hearts and lives that it leaves behind and what we can do to help support those who are left to go on carrying this grief forever.

The money raised will be donated to the SLOW Group - Surviving the loss of your world.

They offer support to bereaved parents, siblings and families after the devastating loss of a child.

Unfortunately, within our group alone, we have gone through a lot of heart-breaking loss, including miscarriages, a newborn baby boy and an eleven month old little girl...

We carry them in our hearts everyday, as do too many other parents and siblings - and we know first hand just how much these charities and groups can help. Weeks, months, and even years after our loss. They’re still there, ready to listen and help.

This has affected all members of the group and we feel strongly about helping raise funds for this charity.

We ourselves are not athletes, but will be doing our best in the coming weeks and months to train and cross that line with pride for our babies.

I speak for myself now, when I say there have been dark times when I haven’t got out of bed for days, maybe even weeks, but with your support and knowing I’m doing this to help other mama’s and make my Goldie Girl proud of me; I’m determined to this.

So please donate, big or small to the JustGiving page or directly to one of the runners in our group.
