Parkinson’s UK

We offer support and fund research to find a cure for Parkinson's

Charity Registration No. 258197 and Scotland SC037554

Our overall fundraising total is now £221,804.74!

We finished 2017 with our campaign Plank4Parkinson's, which raised just under £4,000 and it also increased awareness & understanding of Parkinson's.  Why?  Because we can all do a Plank, but after a while everyone starts to shake and loose their balance, just like we do everyday.

Thanks to the Rokeby crew for another fun Making a Racquet tennis event, Kathy & Rob for their fundraising during Wimbledon fortnight, for Tangent's fundraising cheque and the Kilpatrick's donation.

Living with Parkinson's affects everyone around us, which we all see more and more each day.

Watch our videos on YouTube:

1 in 20 people diagnosed with Parkinson's are under 40. We think that number is growing!

Being diagnosed literally turns your life upside down and makes you evaluate everything.  It makes you work out how to manage your energy levels, decide whether to tell your employer/family/friends and get used to relying on medication to get through the day.....all while you are adjusting your future plans for you and your family.

Why are we doing this?
We want to find a cure.  We are a support group, but we also want to increase awareness of young onset Parkinson's.

SLYPN is run by our fantastic volunteers, Angela, Kerry, Brian (Blogger), Matthew, Susan, Liz, David and Sue & Trevor.  We also have to thank Simone (Popping for Parkinson's ) for all his support and valuable information to younger people with Parkinson's in South London.
