Story

In loving memory of our greatest gift of all Nicole.

Nicole arrived into the world on Christmas eve 1995 weighing 7lb 4 oz. The next five months were bliss as Nicole was never poorly and steadily gained weight and passed her assessments. She was a bright, social little girl who stole the hearts of everyone and taught us all so much about life.

At 5 and half months her weight began to plateau and Nanna's instincts that something was seriously wrong, lead to investigations and just a week later on the 17th June 1996, we were given the devastating news that Nicole had SMA type 1 and would probably not see her first birthday. With the love of family and friends, our life line Anita Macaulay at the Jennifer's Trust (now Spinal Muscular Atrophy  UK) and the support of Alder Hey Hospital, our GP and Health Visitor, Nicole remained well up until the last week of her short life. On the 17th October 1996 she fell asleep, through complications of SMA - just nine months and 3 weeks old. Nicole will always remain in our hearts and a big part of our lives as our business is named after her "Nicole Photography"
