Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As I'm sure most (if not all) of you know by now, my better half Kirsten was diagnosed with breast cancer in January of this year. It came as a helluva shock BUT, she has powered through her treatment and has been a shining beacon of positivity from day one. She is truly an inspiration.
One of the things that has kept her going has been the support given by the amazing folks at Friends Of Anchor and the outstanding staff on Ward 310 at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Our friends at WrestleZone Scotland already started the ball rolling to raise funds for Friends Of Anchor during their Aberdeen Anarchy event on June 17th and now, it's my turn to pick up the baton!
Throughout the month of July, I will be covering a MINIMUM of 10k each day. The means of achieving this distance will range from Pokemon hunting with my son one day to cycling in fancy dress on a bike in the gym the next! Keep in mind...10k is the minimum distance I must achieve each day! Those who know me know how out of shape I am so this could get interesting very quickly!
There will be daily updates over at facebook.com/talkderby and facebook.com/hawkeyesalterego. A public Spotify list will be made too so donators can help choose the tunes that I have to listen to each day while covering the distance AND their will be chance for folks to submit challenges for me to complete as well. Basically, the aim is to make this as fun and exciting as possible!
Kirsten is one of the most positive and inspiring people you could meet and hopefully, this challenge will help to raise awareness in addition to supporting a fantastic and much needed charity.
In the words of Kirsten herself, "be safe, be vigilant, check your lemons!"
Thank you!
sMACk.
