London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to read my story  In April 2024 I will be running 26.2 miles in the London Marathon in memory of my darling daughter Emily and to raise funds in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Emily died on 6th May 2021 after being diagnosed just 6 short months earlier with a rare and highly aggressive spinal cord tumour. Emily was just 22 years old when she died.

During her short Illness the Teenage Cancer Trust team at Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge gave her outstanding care both as an inpatient and then with also with ongoing support during her time at home.

This is my opportunity to say thank you on behalf of Emily to the Teenage Cancer Trust team who provide support to teenagers and young adults aged 13 to 24 during the darkest moments of their life.

We will forever be heartbroken that Emily is no longer with us but she is in my heart forever and I know she will be with me every step of my marathon training and on race day.

Thank you, love Lisa 🌻💕
