Tough Mudder South West 2017 · 19 August 2017 ·

James Hopkins Trust provides care & support for Gloucestershire's life limited and life threatened young children. Our free nursing respite can be day or night in the family home or at our multi-sensory respite centre and gardens called Kites Corner. We are here to create special, lasting memories.

Story

A team of 14 members of staff have entered the Tough Mudder on Saturday 19th August at Badminton to raise money for James Hopkins Trust.

Our chosen charity for 2017 is The James Hopkins Trust. Established in Gloucestershire in 1989 JHT provide care for babies and children up to the age of 5 who have a life limiting or life threatening condition while supporting their families. More information on the James Hopkins Trust can be found here: http://www.jameshopkinstrust.org.uk/

The James Hopkins Trust are currently supporting over 90 children in Gloucestershire, including Simon and Helen’s daughter, Poppy. We recently learned that Poppy has a rare genetic (non-hereditary) disorder that affects brain development resulting in severe mental and physical disability, called Rett syndrome. There is no cure for Rett syndrome so treatment focuses on managing the symptoms. More information on Rett syndrome can be found here: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/rett-syndrome/Pages/introduction.aspx
