Amy Norton is raising money for Abortion Support Network
Story
We are a group of 7 sex-and-relationships writers and this is our second "Smutathon," a 12 hour marathon where we challenge ourselves to write as much as we can (and share some of it on our blogs). Last year we raised £2000 for our two charities and we'd like to match that this year.
We've chosen to fundraise for Abortion Support Network in light of the recent "Repeal the 8th" campaign in Ireland. We were thrilled with the referendum result of course, but unfortunately abortion is still illegal in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. ASN supports pregnant people who have to travel from these places to England for an abortion - something which can cost £400 - £2000, or even more once you factor in childcare, travel and time off work.
We believe that anyone who is pregnant and doesn't want to be deserves access to free, safe and legal abortion procedures, free of stigma or shame. Please help us do our small part to make this a reality.
