Thanks for taking the time to visit Snail Blazers' JustGiving page.

My incredible friends have joined me in forming a team to trek the shoreline and peaks surrounding Lake Windermere. Our challenge is to do the 45 miles in 2 days whilst raising money for School for Parents - a Nottingham charity that provides conductive therapy for my son Isaac and many other amazing babies and children with Cerebral Palsy, other brain injuries and Down's Syndrome. They also provide parents with the tools and confidence to cope with the difficulties of caring for children with disabilities.

In November 2011, Isaac was born with severe brain damage following a placental abruption which cut off his oxygen supply - in a matter of hours, our world was in turmoil. He twice survived life-threatening situations and after 3 weeks in Intensive Care, he was able to come home, with us being told he will have severe mental and physical disabilities.

Isaac is now 16 months old and whilst his mental capability will not be known for some time, he has visual impairment and has been principally diagnosed with Quadriplegia; a form of Cerebral Palsy that causes muscle stiffness in all limbs as well as his abdominal area.

We do not know how this will manifest in terms of his mobility and independence but hope with the help of School for Parents and all his friends & family, Isaac will fulfil his potential.

Isaac has been attending School for Parents every week since September 2012 and receives one-to-one conductive therapy which has seen him progress more than we could ever have dreamed of when we went for the initial assessment.

Thanks to School for Parents, we are more confident with Isaac's daily phyisotherapy and excercises but more importantly School for Parents has given us hope and courage to tackle the future we face as a family.

We cannot imagine where we would be without their support, advice, encouragement and guidance and your valued support and generosity will help the school continue to provide this free service for us and many families like us.

So please dig deep and donate now and share with as many poeple as possible. Not only will your donation help the school continue to provide vital services to vulnerable children but by spreading knowledge and awareness of School for Parents may just encourage other parents to take their children and get the benefits many others have received.

Thank you, Andy Smith (on behalf of Snail Blazers)
