I don’t know about you, but I have been so spurred on by *Captain Tom, that I have an announcement to make…..

It is so very sad that all of our official money raising sporting events have had to be cancelled, and many charities are struggling as a result.

Well I’ve been thinking for a while what to do on Brighton Marathon Day which would have been on Sunday 19^th April and I thought I’d set myself the challenge of going one step further (well several steps actually) and do an ultra-marathon distance of 30 miles without leaving my front gate.

The rules (that I’ve set myself) will allow me to use my flat (the tiniest flat in the world), and the common ways both inside and out. I’ve checked in with my neighbours and we’re obviously going to comply with the social distancing rules.

Now, for those of you who know where I live and have seen my flat, you’ll understand this is going to be quite a challenge, but in comparison to all that our front line key-workers are doing for us day in day out it I feel it’s the least I can do. I roughly will work out to be 63,360 steps.

I would be so grateful that in return for my steps, you could spare a few quid. Thank you my friends. Stay home, stay safe, save lives xxx
