Rachel Piggford is raising money for Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team
Story
On Sunday 27th May 2018 Bangor UMWC will be hiking up Snowdon in fancy dress to raise money for Llanberis Mountain rescue!
We raised a whopping £180 last year so let's try and top it this year!
Stationed in Bangor University, we are extremely luck to have the beautiful Snowdonia mountains on our doorstep, but as we know they can be extremely dangerous and you can quickly get into trouble if you are unprepared.
The popularity of Snowdon has made Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team one of the busiest in the UK. The team is made up of volunteers from all walks of life who are all experienced mountaineers. Due to the fact they're a charity they function and need donations to continue with their amazing life saving work.
In fact, Chairman of Llanberis Mountain Rescue team states that it costs over £40k to run each year.
They sacrifice their own time to keep us and others safe on the mountains, so we would love to be able to give back by donating and hiking alongside us.
