Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In July 2016 Lori & myself were told at our routine 20 week scan that our baby boy's heart hadn't developed correctly and he would be born with a condition called Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. Unfortunately, other than a heart transplant there is no cure or fix for HRHS so it meant he would require multiple open heart surgeries throughout his life to change how his heart functions. Fast forward just over 2 years and he's already battled through and smashed his first operation at 6 weeks old and is due for his second sometime in early 2019. You would never know this to look at him as he's grown into such a wonderful strong boy with an amazing personality and doesn't let anything phase him.

Although all of our hospital treatment and care is based in Southampton Hospital we still rely on The Sussex Snowdrop Trust to care for Ben as his West Sussex based carers providing regular checkups and support. The Sussex Snowdrop Trust are a unique charity providing 'Nursing Care at Home' for local children who have a life-threatening illness or may be terminally ill.

They have looked after us and lots of other families so we wanted to give something back.

Myself & 5 friends from work will be taking part in the Super Spartan Race on May 4th in Kent to raise money for Snowdrop trust. The Super Spartan is 25 Spartan obstacles and 13km of rugged terrain. It's going to hurt, we've all been training to do the best we can, so please if you can spare any money for a donation as it will be hugely appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
