The Snowshill/Bibury team and I are taking on the 10km walk to raise money for their ward at Cheltenham General Hospital.

Why? For me: this is my Mum's ward, she's been a nurse in the hospital for 35 years and she's now the ward manager. Also, I'm an advocate for the ongoing treatment of cancer care, and this ward continues to look after patients after their surgery.

For the team: They are moving to a new Unit and want to fundraise to improve our patient's stay and experience. We hope to be able to buy a treadmill and make their therapy/day room a place for patients to relax and engage with our Enhanced Recovery After Surgery programme (ERAS). This enables patients to be part of the Journey 2 Recovery and feel well cared for and reduce their length of stay, improve patients outcomes and contribute toward their new Urology centre of Excellence.
