Soap for the NHS

Soap for the NHS · 9 February 2021
I started making soap as something to do during lockdown.
These are home made soaps, just out of my tiny kitchen! Many of my friends and family have asked if they can buy one from me. I wanted to give back to the Bristol and Weston Hospital charity, so I saw this as an opportunity to do so
I do have some personal links to this charity that have motivated me. I work at the BHI (Bristol Heart institute), and my husband has received care initially from the children’s hospital, and the BHI for multiple cardiac procedures.
In addition to this my father was also cared for by the Bristol oncology and haematology hospital (BHOC). They saw him at very short notice following a shock diagnosis of end stage cancer. He had multiple intensive treatments and had to be admitted a few times to BHOC. They supported me in caring for him even once his active treatment came to an end. Thanks to them he was able to enjoy his 56th birthday at home, organising help from a completely different county at a days notice. He died just over a month later, but I will never forget what they did for us.
The charity support staff and patients, and during the pandemic the NHS are under immense pressure. Any amount is greatly appreciated by the charity and by me.
Thank you
