We read about how a 'Wall of Trees' stretching from coast to coast in Africa could help save life by retaining water, preventing drought and halting the advance of the Sahara. Tree Aid is something of a Foresters charity and has been planting trees in the African Sahel for years. In Scotland we have trees everywhere and take water for granted - so we have challenged ourselves to canoe from the west coast at Fort William 95kn to the east coast at Inverness, to see if we already have our own coast to coast 'Wall' in the Highlands - and seek donations for Tree Aid to save life in the process!
