Lake District Challenge 2021 · 12 June 2021 ·
Hello! ☀️
We are Anne-Sophie, Ines, Lucie and me, Solène! We are a group of friends who decided a few weeks ago to take on a new challenge: participate in the Lake District Challenge and collect 245£ for a charity! ⛰
So, on June 12, I will have put on my sneakers and set out to walk 28km on behalf of Sense charity! 🥾
As some of you may know, I have been particularly interested in disability for some time, being myself involved in a charity. So it's quite naturally that I decided to raise funds for this charity for the Lake District challenge!
What is Sense?
From administrative assistance to the organization holidays and short breaks for children with disabilities, Sense is a charity that helps deaf and blind people and those with complex disabilities to be included, connected and valued.
Sense during the pandemic?
The Covid-19 pandemic had a particularly strong impact on children with disabilities, depriving them of social contact and access to the support they need. Sense has therefore adapted by offering new formats to best help the charity's members. 💻
But Sense needs your help! That's why I've prepared a few surprises to make this fundraising a little bit more fun 🙊
A challenge for each step of the fundraising:
- at 50£: I commit to sort out my closet and donate everything to Sense's charity store. All profits from the sale of these clothes will go directly to Sense,
- at 100£: I commit to run 10km!
- at 200£: I commit to organising a traditional British pub quiz with a prize for the winner!
- at 245£: I commit myself to spend 1 day "blindfolded" in London!
The proof of each challenge will be posted on this platform, in the photo gallery 📸
But that's not all! I also prepared little rewards for each participation, because I want to thank you all for your commitment! 🎁
Rewards:
- For any participation between 0 and 30£, I commit to writing your name on the t-shirt I will wear on the day! Seeing all your names will surely give me the motivation I need for the last few kms 💪
- And for any participation above 30£, I commit to bringing you a little souvenir of the Lake District!
Here is also some little information about how donations will be used because it is important that you know how your participation will help Sense!
How your contribution will help:
- £5 could pay for a set of musical bells used in music therapy to help stimulate children with complex disabilities. 🎶
- £20 could pay for an umbrella with twinkling lights inside, used to create a mini-sensory environment for a child in a cot, or hospital bed. 🌈
- £45 could pay for a sensory book bag containing a big book version of a children’s story, soft toy versions of the characters and scented items to smell, bringing a traditional children’s story to life.📚
- £135 could help pay for a family to share precious moments together on a Sense Family Day. 👨👩👧👦
- £245 could give a Sense Children and Family Support Worker crucial time to teach a child to communicate and experience the world. 🔎
I hope I've managed to share my motivation and enthusiasm with you, feel free to post a comment or ask me a question privately, I'll be more than happy to answer 🙂
Many thanks in advance to all of you! 🙏
I'm counting on you!!! 💪
Solene 💃

Bonjour ! ☀️
