I'm in! After getting up at midnight and driving to the organisers house, my entry was accepted in person at around 1am Monday morning 01/03/10! Now the training begins...
After competing in a five-person mixed team in last years Mountain Mayhem, I've foolishly decided to go solo this year!
The event is a 'Le Mans' style race complete with running start, with the objective being to complete as many laps of the 9-mile course in 24hours as possible, including riding throughout the night in the pitch black! My aim is to do 20 laps which will be in the order of 180 miles of off-road biking, with associated mud, rocks, hills, trees and even other riders to battle my way through.
Please, give what you can, Wateraid is a fantastic charity and the bigger the total the more mental strength I'll have whilst ploughing through a muddy uphill section at 3 in the morning!
