Warrington Way 40 mile Ultra Marathon · 7 November 2015

The Good Thinking Society is a registered charity set up by science writer Simon Singh to encourage curiosity and promote rational thinking. We are fans of science, and critics of pseudoscience.

Story

Jason is running the Warrington Way 40 mile race in November 2015, this in itself is extraordinary as 12 months ago Jason was a chain smoking, beer swilling, kebab devouring sack of lard that would get out of breath getting up to get the phone to order a kebab

I am raising money to support The Good Thinking Society because I feel its important that we challenge ideas, practices and products that can be dangerous or harmful.

The Good Thinking Society is a small charity that is pro-science and anti-pseudoscience. Their latest major project is a mathematics education initiative based in secondary schools, which begins later this year.

Despite being a relatively-young charity, their work has taken many forms, including encouraging excellence in the teaching of maths, successfully challenging NHS spending on homeopathy, sponsoring awards for science blogging, organising awareness-raising campaigns about the nature of psychic claims, screening a documentary about James Randi & skepticism, investigating and reporting dangerous alternative health treatments, publishing factsheets on common pseudosciences, and more.

Thanks for helping to make a difference.
