Story

My names is Danielle and I write the blog Someone's Mum (https://someonesmum.co.uk/)

In 2015, when my son was not yet quite three, we discovered that he is autistic. Since then, I have spent a fair bit of time learning and writing about autism on my blog. This year, I was referred for an adult autism assessment myself.

My ultimate goal is to raise awareness - until everyone understands. But this year I am also going to try to get active and raise some money for NAS too, so that they can continue to fund great projects like the Too Much Information campaign and other initiatives that really help to raise awareness and improve the quality of life for autistic people in the UK, and everywhere.

I am to complete 7k on each day of Autism Awareness Week, which is 49km or around 30 miles. Any sponsorship donation you can spare is greatly appreciated.

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.
