I first had Encephalitis in July 2000. I was seriously ill and was very close to not making it through. Encephalitis has had, and continues to have, a big impact on my life, both physically, mentally and emotionally. It has been really hard at times but it has made me who I am today. 

In April 2020 I had planned to share my story, raise awareness of Encephalitis and raise money for the Encephalitis Society through a concert: This was sadly cancelled due to Covid. During shielding, I decided that I would write a song instead and use that to raise money and awareness instead. The song is dedicated to everyone who has been affected by Encephalitis.

The Encephalitis Society are a vital resource for anyone affected by Encephalitis, providing support, information and conducting research. Things would have been a lot harder over the years for me if they were not around.
