Breast cancer can effect anyone. Because of research and family history I knew I had inherited BRACA2 gene and got monitored on an annual basis at Newcastle’s RVI. .  Sadly in 2015 after my routine mammogram came back clear, I was called back after my MRI scan and after further testing was told that the cells in my right breast had changed and that I would need a mastectomy. Having discovered the changes so early on I was lucky that I wouldn’t need any chemo. I had already decided that if I ended up with breast cancer I would have both breasts removed so had a double mastectomy with implants. 

Since then I have tried to support Breast Cancer Wear it Pink and think this is a great opportunity to raise money and get fitter at the same time!
