Hi Guys,

Just a few words from me to you, i'm doing the Thames Bridge bike ride on the 23rd of May for the Stroke Association in memory of my beloved grandfather who passed away last year in December.

No one in my family ever suffered from a Stroke, so when it happened to my grandad it took us all by surprise and was the beginning of a difficult time in our lives. My grandad suffered his first major stroke in November 2008. Due to his age the doctors had told us that he would not survive, but due to his fighting spirit and immense will power he blessed us with a bit more of his time!! During this time, my family were knocked for six as the piller of strength and shining light of our family had slowly been taken away from us. My grandad was not only an inspiration to me but to my whole family and our wider community, his loving and giving nature touched many. I could have never asked for a better or more amazing grandad.

He sadly passed away the following year in December, and ever since i have never been able to fill the gap that he has left in my life. However, if there was anything that he taught me, it was too stay strong and think positive and for that reason i have decided to raise money for the stroke association. The money you donate today will help others who have come through the same thing as me and my family and to prepare those for the 'what if'.
