A precious little sister to Avneet and Yuvraj 🤍

Her first 10 weeks of life were spent in and out of hospitals, GP appointments and visits from health visitors. Endless check-ups trying to understand why our baby wasn’t growing and why she wasn’t gaining weight.

The constant vomiting and the struggle to feed her became unbearable. I tried everything I possibly could to stabilise her weight, but nothing worked.

Eventually, we were referred to hospital under failure to thrive, where a feeding tube was inserted. From that point on, Asees was tube fed.

At just 13 weeks old, a scan finally gave us the answers we had been desperately searching for.

Asees has oesophageal atresia — a rare birth defect that affects the oesophagus, the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach. This is why she cannot tolerate feeds orally.

She will now need surgery in order to eat normally.

Our journey hasn’t been the start we imagined, but our little girl is strong, brave, and so deeply loved. We’re taking this one step at a time 🤍

Today, at nearly 5mths old she growing stronger and healthier everyday 🙏
