Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Our mum Sylvia had a short, often very painful and sickening fight with Cholangiocarcinoma or bile duct cancer. A rare and unfortunately very aggressive cancer that is virtually always fatal in a very short period of time.

From diagnosis to mums passing was less than 8 weeks and still seems quite surreal, although we were beside her as much as we could be and were with her and other family members when she left us to be with our dearest deeply missed dad Kenneth.

The support from the district nurses, doctors and medical team were fab but supported by our wonderful NHS.

Marie Curie nurses offered mum and us the family care, compassion and time to recharge and to continue our care for mum, when we needed it most. Their work is funded by donations and is a vital resource; we would love others to have the opportunity to receive if they need it which is why this page exists.

Please consider giving what you can in memory of a much loved Mum, Sister, Mother-in-law, Godmother, Aunty Sylvie and friend.

Thank you in advance from us all
